Annie and Jack’s gorgeous Autumn wedding at Ballara Receptions

Ballara Receptions Wedding

On an absolutely perfect Autumn Melbourne day (does Melbourne get any better than it’s Autumn?), Annie and Jack got hitched in a very touching and sweet Ballara Receptions wedding.

With preparations at a nearby hotel, I arrived to find the guys all set and super-organised – I was later to find out that I shouldn’t have been surprised by this 🙂 After preparations and portraits, it was across to another room to catch up with Annie and her very sweet bridesmaids, who were finishing hair and makeup. Absolutely loved the white roses and cute bridesmaids bouquets, and Annie’s beautiful dress.

The girls were excited (perhaps even a little nervous?) as I headed up to Ballara to get ready.

The Ballara Receptions wedding ceremony was just a few minutes away in the car, and with a 5 pm wedding, the sun had dropped low enough that shade was just crawling across the wedding venue, by the gazebo and lake – beautiful.

A touching ceremony including putting away a nice bottle and some letters to each other for another time, followed by a group shot and portraits, and we were all headed into a rocking reception.

Thanks Annie and Jack – hope you had a brilliant day 🙂

Anastasia and Darren’s gorgeous Spring wedding at Ballara Receptions and Tokar Estate

Anastasia and Darren - Tokar Estate

On Sunday morning early, it was such a pleasure to photograph Anastasia and Darren’s wedding at Ballara Receptions, followed by lunch (and a few more photos) at stunning Tokar Estate, just down the road in Coldstream.

Anastasia and her bridesmaids all arrived in a long white limo at 10.30am on the dot, including bridesmaid/groomsmaid(?) Carly. Definitely a family affair with the 6 combined children all acting as the bridal party, truly a modern merged family 🙂

Obviously a couple very much in love, their simple vows and ring exchange were the central part of the ceremony (conducted by the lovely Meriki Comito), in front of around 50 family and friends.

Just a sneak peek for Anastasia and Darren – hope you enjoy!

After taking around 30 minutes worth of shots at Ballara, it was off to Tokar Estate (also in the Yarra Valley) for some more shots on the amazing grounds there. We didn’t have a huge amount of time before lunch, just enough to slip out while guests were having canapes, and grab a quick 15 minutes or so outside. The weather was holding out – it was to be the only sunny day amongst about 14 days of rain and showers. A brilliant sunny Spring day in Melbourne, it was so pleasing that the weather held out for such a lovely and friendly couple and their family and guests.

Ballara Receptions Wedding

Last Saturday it was my privilege to spend the day with Courtney and Matt to capture their awesome Ballara Receptions wedding. Preparations for them both were at home (and Mum’s place, in Courtney’s case), and then the beautiful chapel ceremony and fun-filled reception at Ballara.

Meeting Matt and his brilliant and fun family, including all the brothers and bro-from-another-mo best-man Deki, was a huge amount of fun and instantly I could tell this was going to be an awesome day. Of course I’d met Matt a couple of times, first out at our place and then when he and Courtney dropped by an expo or two, and Sam from Wedding Movies and I felt so welcome and genuinely part of the big day.

Then we headed just around the corner to see Courtney and the beautiful bridesmaids, and again, it was like being invited into the family – what a warm and friendly welcome. But it shouldn’t have been a surprise – it could be only thus, given the absolutely amazing couple that they are.

Anyway, it’s the pictures that we’re here to see, so check them out – thanks again Courtney and Matt, hope you like these …. Oh, I almost forgot … #courtneymatthew  🙂
