Carlene and Jarrod’s Summer wedding on Spirit Station Pier, Melbourne

Spirit Station Pier wedding

What a day on Saturday for Carlene and Jarrod’s awesome beachside wedding at the beautiful Spirit Station pier. I spent the morning with Carlene and her lovely bridesmaids while they got ready for the wedding.

I’d joked with Jarrod a couple of nights ago on the phone, talking about the excitement before the wedding and that perhaps we might need to fly in come valium if anyone needed calming down – to which he replied that could probably be arranged, with both bride and groom (and many of the guests) being pharmacists 🙂 It wasn’t required though of course, the girls were relaxed and arrived at the pier bang on time.

The only issue was that a strong southerly had also decided that 2pm would be a great time to visit the Bay – did I mention it was a strong wind? It didn’t matter though as Carlene and Jarrod’s beautiful vows, special words to each other and looks of love were entirely unaffected. With everyone taking the weather as it came – as we must do in Melbourne – it actually made the ceremony very memorable, and meant that quiet words between the couple were even more special – as celebrant Rita pointed out, no one more than 2 feet away could have heard them in any case!

Then it was on to the Vibe Savoy on Little Collins St for some drinks, dancing, and speeches.

Check out the images below and we hope you enjoy them – congratulations again Carlene and Jarrod!

Jen and Scott’s church wedding, clifftop photo shoot and Wyndham Torquay reception

Wyndham Torquay Jan Juc wedding

Jen and Scott booked me for their church wedding and Wyndham Torquay reception wedding a couple of years ago. I had met Jen while she was working as the hairdresser on another wedding Iwas photographing (check out her work on the beautiful Ashley here), and after going back and forth on the phone and via email over the last several months it was a pleasure to catch up with her and Scott again this weekend for their wedding down on the Surf Coast at Torquay.

We started off with the guys at a private house right in Torquay, in fact everything was close by which meant it was so easy for everyone to get around between locations. The girls had decided to get ready at the Wyndham Torquay, so with it’s amazing views out over the surf and a brilliant big bright room it meant for some great getting-ready shots for Jen and her beautiful bridesmaid sisters.

It really was a great family wedding, with Jen’s Uncle, Father Michael, conducting the ceremony and then on to the clifftops for their bridal shoot. Check out Jen and Scott dodging the waves in one of the beach shots – this was NOT a set-up novelty shot! I had to head for the safety of a large rock myself at one stage to avoid the incoming tide 🙂

Check out the pics below and read on below the post for some more about the day.

Jan Juc Beach Wedding Shoot

Wyndham Torquay

The whole bridal party did brilliantly to get around the beach and boardwalk along at Jan Juc there – I always like to see a brave bride rewarded for her effort, and Jen was such a trooper climbing stairs, sandhills and boardwalks to get the shots they wanted, I hope the finished product lives up to the effort they all put in.

Of course, then it was back to the Wyndham Torquay to party for the night. With lots of family gathered from across the country and the UK, it was great to see them having such a good time.

Thanks again to Jen and Scott for the opportunity – hope you enjoyed the day as much as I enjoyed working with you all.

Jess and Ben’s amazing wedding at Pavilion McCrae Beach

Melbourne Wedding Photography - January 2016

On Saturday 9th of January I had my first wedding of 2016, and what better way to start the year than at the beach for Jess and Ben’s Pavilion McCrae Beach wedding.

Some “beach” weddings are more beachside, but not this one – absolutely ON the beach, complete with the general public looking on (and giving an awesome cheer at the right times 🙂 )

The trek through the sand dunes did raise a couple of issues – but nothing a few strong fellas and a sturdy improvised chairlift couldn’t fix – check out the images below and you’ll see what I mean.

Jess and Ben’s work over the last few years having taken them as far as Indonesia and New Zealand, it was great to finally meet them in person after a few extended phone chats and Skype sessions over the last year or so.

This wedding was originally scheduled for buy phentermine next weekend, until the unfortunate loss of The Baths at Sorrento forced a reschedule. But with the help of the lovely staff and friends at Pavilion McCrae Beach, a new date was found and all the plans went ahead from there.

Congratulations again Jess and Ben – what an awesome and fun day, hope you guys had a great time and enjoy this sneak peek 🙂
