Killara Estate Wedding Featured on Planning It All
Just a quick post – back in June while we were away, we were featured on the awesome wedding blog Planning It All. Check out the link below to see the lovely Amanda’s post about how she viewed Nada and Alex’s beautiful Killara Estate wedding.
You don’t get many better Yarra Valley venues than Killara Estate, especially when the sun is shining like it was buy xanax that day. It really is a bit of a secret gem on the Warburton Highway – highly recommended to anyone looking for a venue.
Killara Estate – A small gallery of Jemma and Anthony’s Killara Estate wedding.
In April 2014 I had the pleasure of meeting up again with Jemma and Anthony. I had really been looking forward to it as they were such a lovely couple to talk with when we met initially and booked everything in.
It’s always a special pleasure to have weddings nearby, and for us Killara Estate is just down the road – about 20 minutes from home. It’s also a venue that is very special to us as it was one of the first places we connected with when we moved to the area. Also because the folks at Killara have always helped us out and been receptive to us shooting there. It’s also where another very special happened for Millgrove Photography, but that’s another story.
So after Anthony’s preparations, it was out to Don Valley where there was a small army of people helping Jemma get ready. Actually I’m not sure how much help some of it was 😉 But it was so cosy to have lots of family around, all getting ready for the big day.
And the Yarra Valley did turn on the weather that day. It was an absolutely glorious Melbourne Autumn day for Jemma to walk down the aisle for the garden wedding on the platform at Killara Estate.
A simple and personal ceremony was very soon over with a very happy and smiley bride and groom. These two didn’t really take their smiles off all day, it was such a pleasure to work with them and just to be around them, they were so happy and so obviously in love.
This is just a small gallery that formed their sneak preview, but I think it gives a good representation of how much they enjoyed their day. When they told me how much they loved the shots, it was just perfect.
The 8th of March is a special day for us, and it was made even more special by covering the wedding of the beautiful couple Nada and Alex at the always-brilliant Killara Estate. A bright and sunny March day was perfect for guests and bridal party alike, and was one of the first weddings on the new platform that Killara have built overlooking the mountains.
The ceremony was conducted by the lovely and always bubbly Julia Doeven, and everything at Killara Estate was looked after by Kevin and his awesome team.
Nada had shared a lot of ideas with me of what she wanted from her wedding shots, which was fantastic as it gave us plenty of ideas to work from, and we had a lot of fun using the vines, the sun, and the locations around Killara to create some beautiful images for Nada and Alex.
Thanks Nada for the kind words …
