On Saturday I travelled across to Rivers of Yarrambat for Mia and Ray’s wedding, just for a short engagement to cover the ceremony and portraits afterwards. I’d spoken to Mia a few times and knew that the detail shots of all the work she’d personally put into decorating the venue were important to her, so I made sure to get plenty of those – sorry if this set is a bit detail-heavy – it’s Mia’s preview after all 🙂
She also loves a rustic and vintage style, so that’s what we’ve gone for in the process of these shots.
Check out the preview, and read on below for a few more stories from the day.
Mia and Ray – Rivers of Yarrambat
Mia and Ray chose Rivers of Yarrambat for their wedding – a cute venue hidden up in the northern suburbs, with the ceremony locations overlooking a lake and a bright and airy function room. One of the things I really love about the reception room is the large paved terrace outside, where guests can pop out for some fresh air even if the weather isn’t spectacular.
And this location was one that I hadn’t shot in there at Rovers before – across the lake looking back towards the function room. Definitely an airier spot, and with the sun breaking through we got some beautiful late-afternoon Melbourne light for the ceremony starting just after 5pm.
The two Chevy Bel-Airs were driven and provided by some very generous friends who chauffeured them to the venue, and we did have a chance to get some shots with the cars afterwards which was great.
A huge focus for Mia and Ray was their beautiful kids, who did a brilliant job not only in “helping ” Mum get ready, but in acting as gorgeous flowergirls and walking her down the aisle. Great work kids 🙂
Congratulations Mia and Ray and hope you like the shots (and hope the processing is what you’re looking for!).
