Sails on the Bay – Jen and Phil’s Summer wedding

Sails on the Bay wedding photography

Sails on the Bay – Jen and Phil’s wedding on Summer 2013 was an absolutely amazing day.

Jen and Phil had spoken to me after being guests at their friends’ wedding which I’d photographed way back in March 2012, and they booked me in soon after we chatted over coffee in Carlton.

Starting with preparations in Caroline Springs with Phil, we then headed across to Taylors Lakes where Jen was getting ready.

The wedding ceremony itself was on Ormond Pier in Elwood, which is a beautiful venue for a summer’s day wedding – as long as you are comfortable with lots of onlookers who will be in their swimming gear 🙂 On this particular day there was a group of about 20 kids doing backflips off the pier. They did stop while the ceremony was on (and provided entertainment for everyone before and after 🙂 )

We then had a pretty tight timeline, hitting 3 different city locations. First to the Arts Centre and Floral Clock, then in to the city and down via Hosier Lane for the famous graffiti shots.

Then it was on to the reception at Sails on the Bay, not far away down the road in Elwood.

And as the sun was setting, it was pretty easy to convince Jen and Phil that we should head outside again for a quick sunset shoot – and it was a perfect sunset, a few clouds, not too bright, and I think we got some awesome shots from it. They loved them, so that’s all that really matters.
