Barwon Heads Golf Club
The lovely Kate and John’s wedding was an absolute privilege to be a small part of.
Meeting the guys at the Barwon Heads Golf Club Club for their preparation shots was so relaxed and John and his mates were so easy to get along with, we had a laugh while they got ready and then we braved the elements for a few minutes to get some shots across the road, in some very Scottish/Danish feeling landscapes. It really was like being back on one of our trips to Scotland, with wind and rain whistling across the low-lying dunes – good Scottish weather 😉
Then it was on to meet up with Kate and her lovely family at their place. Their absolutely beautiful house was a perfect spot to get ready, especially with 3 sisters in the bridal party! Lots of space and light which always makes a photographer’s life easy.
A very personal and touching ceremony at All Saints in the centre of Barwon Heads which was conducted by a minister who was a family friend, then on to the bridge at Barwon Heads. Kate and her sisters did a great job in the conditions, although when the rain showers did come through there was quite a bit of screaming and running for shelter 🙂 . We did get the benefit of some beautiful weather to follow though, including a little rainbow that did feature in some of the final shots.
We headed back to the Barwon Heads Golf Club to finish our formal family shots, and then I headed into the reception room overlooking the course, to get some detail shots of the table settings and cake. Soon it was time for introductions, and as the guys hadn’t booked the reception to be covered it was time for me to hit the road back to Melbourne.
A really great day and it was great to work with Kat and John at the Barwon Heads Golf Club which is important to them both.
