Saturday was a brilliant day for a wedding, and it was an absolute pleasure to be asked to photograph Jacqui and Nick’s Como House wedding in South Yarra, followed by a reception at Mountain Goat Brewery. A Como House wedding is always special, it’s a National Trust listed building built in the mid-1800’s and the house is an impressive backdrop as well as the beautiful gardens.
I first started out though with a very quick meeting at the Park Hyatt, where Jacqui had asked me to come by for a very quick pre-wedding shoot to just get a few shots of her and the girls and family before heading to Como House.
Then it was on to the Como House wedding venue, to touch base with lovely Bianca Paliaga from the Modern Celebrants ahead of an intimate ceremony on the lawn by the fountain in the gardens. Later, it was on to the Mountain Goat Brewery in Richmond for the reception which then stretched into and after party nearby ….
Check out the images, and read on below for some more words about Jacqui and Nick’s big day.
Preparations – Park Hyatt
Como House Wedding
Mountain Goat Brewery
After talking with Jacqui and Nick fairly recently to run through what was going to happen on the day, they were keen to have a big group shot in front of the historic house, so I’ brought along my ladder for a bit of perspective.
Also, when we headed out to Richmond, it was for some shots in the fading light as night closed in, daylight saving now being over. And I absolutely loved the entrance through the roller door, into the low-lit brewery bar. It always reminds me of an old speakeasy or underground club, with the entrance through the door on a side street in the backblocks of Richmond.
Hope you guys had an amazing day and kicked on with the crowd into the night, you’re such a pleasure to be around. Many thanks for having me be there to photograph your big day.
