A Chapel wedding at Ballara Receptions was the perfect spot for Kirsty and Brad’s wedding. In Melbourne, it’s always necessary to have either an undercover wedding, or at least a Plan B especially in April, but basically at any time of the year).
I headed out to Bayswater for a quick session with the guys – as it was a 10am wedding, it meant an early start for everyone, but the guys were up and ready to get into action at 7am which was a great effort.
Then it was on to Yarra Valley Lodge where the girls were getting ready – and I believe had been since well before 5am.
Making my way down to Ballara in the bright Autumn sunshine, I met up again with the guys and the nervousness and emotion from Brad had definitely increased, and throughout the ceremony the emotion and sense of “meaningfulness” and genuine love for each other was quite powerful and beautiful to see.

Absolutely loved the Chevy Bel Air’s that Kirsty and Brad had arranged to drop them off at their Chapel Wedding, and an awesome long white stretch Cadillac to take them away – those classic cars are always amazing and I have to admit the Chevy’s are one of my favourites 🙂
Also loved the personal touch that involved the wedding cake(s) – Brad’s parents had single-handedly put them together and it very much looked like a professional job. I’m not sure whether or not they are actually bakers – but it sure looked like they know their way around a kitchen.
And the look on proud Mother of the Bride in the mirror during the prep was one of favourite moments from the day – keeping it together but as I mentioned earlier, the love and emotion between Kirsty and Brad was both touching and powerful, and it was a privilege to be there and capture some of those moments.
