Earlier in March I had the pleasure of heading over to one of Melbourne’s best wedding photography locations, Ballara Receptions, to photograph the Melbourne leg of Courtney and Asjad’s wedding celebration.
Usually I’m able to (and love to) catch up with the bride and groom in person before the big day, but that sometimes doesn’t happen, as in this case – pretty much the entire bridal party, including parents, were flying in from around the world the week of the wedding, and catching up in advance just wasn’t really an option.
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Courtney and Asjad had celebrated their wedding earlier in the year in Nairobi, with hundreds of friends and relatives. However, with many friends and family spread right across the globe, they were able to travel back to Melbourne for a get together and celebration for those who were unable to make the trip to Kenya.
Below is a sneak peek at some of their images, and read on below the images for a bit more about the events of their big day.

Having already been married, there was no need for a celebrant! So a few quick and heartfelt words from proud Dad James welcomed everyone to the celebration, and without the ceremony itself it was pretty much straight into the party.
And with Courtney and Asjad having had multiple days of celebration in Nairobi, they were absolute pros at having their photo taken – I believe I might have been their 5th wedding photography shoot … and looking at some of the awesome shots they had on display from the previous shoots, I hope these also live up to their expectations. No pressure …. 🙂
To cap off the day, amazing band The Club Band rocked on an absolutely awesome set that had the room moving – and that’s not always easy to do early on a Sunday afternoon!
Loved working with the lovely Courtney and Asjad and their brilliant family and friends – congratulations guys and safe travels to everyone heading to your various destinations 🙂
