The Autumn Wild Cattle Creek wedding of Haidee and Chris

In early March 2016, Haidee and Chris tied the knot at the beautiful Wild Cattle Creek winery here in Melbourne’s Yarra Valley.

The guys were preparing up in the Homestead, a beautiful home high up on the property with plenty of room for Chris and his groomsmen to get ready in style, and I got there to photograph the preparations while the girls were still out with hair and makeup at a local place.

Once the girls arrived back, I headed down to one of the awesome holiday units on the property to be there with them and capture the final preparations.

Check out the images below for a preview, and read on below the gallery for a few more thoughts and stories from the day.

The beautiful Wallace homestead at Wild Cattle Creek was a great spot for the guys to get ready. Chris and his groomsmen are very laid-back guys and they created a very relaxed feel, which hopefully comes across in the shots. Sometimes when I get to houses where preparations are happening, there’s music booming, sometimes it’s just some quiet and easy banter and chat – that was very much the case here.

The girls were a bit delayed in hair and makeup, so after keeping in touch by phone we arranged to catch up when they got back. I managed to pop into their room and get lots of the detail shots done in advance, and although we’d had a slight delay we still managed to get some portraits and lots of getting-ready shots. A personal favourite of mine was the look and reaction from Haidee’s Mum when she first saw her girl in the wedding dress – it was a great moment.

A very personal and meaningful ceremony was conducted by their good friend Nick, and included one of my personal favourite poems (stories) – Oh The Places You’ll Go. The genuis work by Dr. Suess is just so brilliant and works so well at weddings – always brings a lump to the throat for me as happens to be very special to me personally.

After celebrations it was on to a group shot and formals, and a quick bridal shoot before moving on to the reception.

Although I wasn’t booked to stay for the reception, it looked like it was going to be a brilliant night and I hope the guys had an amazing party.

Congratulations Haidee and Chris – enjoy the sneaky peek 🙂
