5 things to tell your Wedding Photographer

Here’s the text so that robots can read it;

After covering nearly 200 weddings over the last 5 years, we thought we’d make a quick list of some things we have learnt to ask our couples – some might be obvious, some might not. Here are 5 things your wedding photographer finds really handy to know …

1. The names of your parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, Grandmas and Pops … and bridal party. It’s so we can (try to) learn them in advance, and so we can address everyone politely on the day. But also remember, there’s only one of me, and lots of you – so don’t hate us if we forget one or two!

2. Speaking of parents, let us know in detail how your family situation works. Are Mum and Dad both coming? Are they still together, remarried, separated and don’t get along? Everyone’s family situation is different – tell us about yours so we avoid any awkwardness.

3. Are there any surprises we should know about at the reception? If an award winning Elvis impersonator or a group of Egyptian dancers are going to make a dramatic entrance, we want to be ready to capture it. Let us know in advance – we promise not to spoil the surprise 😉

4. Let us know who your celebrant and videographer (and preferably, all your other vendors) are. By knowing this in advance, we can touch base with them ahead of the day and make sure everyone’s on the same page with how the day’s going to run.

5.How adventurous are you going to be in your wedding dress? If we’re going to the beach, are you OK with walking on the sand? How about in the water? Will the sight of seaweed on your dress put you over the edge? Let us know where your comfort levels are and we can plan for them before the shoot.
