The Yarra Valley is our home since 2010 when we moved to Millgrove, near Warburton. With it’s many wineries, lodges, restaurants and amazing wedding venues, there’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular choices for weddings for couples from all over Melbourne.
Venues like the stunning Killara Estate with it’s views across the valley. The private and hidden away Yarra Valley Lodge with it’s scultped golf course and beautiful reception room.
And of course Chateau Wyuna, nestled at the very foot of Mount Dandenong and having such great flexibility, for chapel weddings, garden weddings, and a huge variety of locations to create beautiful wedding images.
And not forgetting Yarra Ranges Estate, an absolute hidden gem with a gorgeous outlook, tucked away in the heart of the region.
Not too long ago it was my privilege to photograph Jess and Kyle’s beautiful Marybrooke Manor wedding, high up in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges.
We started with preparations shots at a friend’s property in nearby Kallista – down some roads I’m fairly sure I’ve never driven on, despite travelling around the mountain for the better part of my life!
Then it was on to Marybrooke to catch up with the guys for a quick pre-wedding shoot, before the girls celexa side effects upset stomach arrived. A quick bit of liquid courage by bride Jess before getting out of the car – just wondering now, is that why she had the giggles during the ceremony? On reflection, I don’t think so – more likely just super happy 🙂
It was an honour to have been asked to photograph Megan and Mark’s reception and at Yarra Ranges Estate wedding, and to have the opportunity to shoot a first-look at well is always an extra special moment.
Mark I have known for a long time – we went to school together (although a few years apart, and too many years ago!). When he contacted me to have a chat about the possibility of me covering his wedding to the lovely Megan, it was great to meet her and catch up with him again, as it had been a few years since we were in touch on anything other than Facebook.
So we caught up, and after chatting things through, it was awesome to hear that they wanted me to cover the wedding at the beautiful Yarra Ranges Estate. We even had the opportunity to do a pre-wedding side effects celexa medication shoot in the Redwood forest up here near home (more to be shown on that later … )
Breakfast and prep with the guys, preparations for the girls at an absolutely stunning B&B in Kallista, followed by a first-look and then on to an amazing wedding, surrounded by friends and family – absolutely brilliant.
Here’s a sneak preview Megan and Mark – hope you love them, and congratulations!
Yarra Ranges Estate Wedding
The venue was the Yarra Ranges Estate, and the weather turned out one of those Melbourne Autumn days perfect for a big-sky wedding – http://yarrarangesestate.com.au/
In March 2017 I was asked to photograph Donna and Justin’s big day, capturing their Gum Gully Farm wedding celebration. And what a lovely celebration it was, with an intimate group of family and friends on hand to witness their touching ceremony.
With Donna and Justin keeping things very low-key, we kept the photography to just include the ceremony itself, and a short portrait sessions afterwards. And with the Melbourne Autumn weather threatening, the ceremony was moved inside the chapel, but I think that might have been a great move – the chapel is just so cosy!
After the ceremony we had a chance to visit celexa side effects night sweats with some of the lovely deer at the farm, which was a highlight for all the kids in the family as well as (I suspect) Donna and Justin – they couldn’t take the smiles off their faces if that is any indication 🙂
