Rachel and Blake’s Lyrebird Falls Wedding
Rachel and Blake got hitched in a very fun, smiley and sweet Lyrebird Falls wedding, high up in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges.

Keeping things super low-key, Rachel and Blake didn’t book me for the morning, preferring instead to do their getting-ready without a photographer hanging around! So it was only at the venue that I met up with them again, having caught up here in the office a while back and on the phone several times since.
Check out the shots from the ceremony and portraits session, and their entrance to the reception.
Congratulations Rachel and Blake – it was a pleasure working with you both and for people who don’t like having their photos taken, you did a brilliant job 🙂
Lyrebird Falls Wedding
The beautiful little gazebo is perfect for a Lyrebird Falls wedding in any weather – important in Melbourne, let’s face it!
Beautiful bridesmaids all set to help Bride Rachel down the aisle.
Just a hint of nervousness there amongst the guys, I think …
These two little fellas did a brilliant job, delivering the rings and beinf super well-behaved all day. Well done little guys 🙂
With highly-experienced and always entertaining celebrant John Byrne leading the ceremony, there were plenty of smiles.
Love this group shot location – no Lyrebird Falls wedding is complete without a group shot in the courtyard with the gazebo in the background. Specially requested by Rachel and Blake, even though they really, really aren’t keen on being the centre of attention. Kind of hard to avoid at your own wedding though :p
Our bridal party posing for a formal photograph …
… and posing, a little less formally, with some drinks.
Some really cute little paths lead around the edges of Lyrebird Falls, some more hidden than others. I’d been chatting with Rachel and Blake and had a really strong brief from the to keep their shoot as unposed and casual as possible. I hope I’ve hit that, this was one of my favourite “unposed” posed shots from the afternoon.
As they often do, some great shots come just before you wrap up with a spot. This wasn’t as all the shot I was going for, but sometimes these little genuine moments give you exactly what you’re after.
Loved the colours of this semi-naked cake.
Our bride and groom did brilliantly well and I couldn’t leave without sneaking out to just capture a couple of shots out in the garden with the fairy lights in the garden at Lyrebird Falls.
