Ascot House Wedding – Sharlie and Rowan

Ascot House Wedding Melbourne

Ascot House Receptions wedding

An Ascot House Receptions wedding was on the cards in February, 2015. I hadn’t met Sharlie and Rowan before the wedding day, they’re from Perth and it was a little bit far to go to organise a meeting 🙂 As a result, we caught up on the morning of the wedding, firstly having had a couple of long chats on the phone with Sharlie beforehand.

A personal story, I’m always early to any booking in the city and this was no exception. And in this case I’m glad I was, as the parking spot that I needed to use at the hotel was extremely tight – you’ve heard of a 3 point turn, this just about required a 33 point turn to fit my Subie into the underground secure spot at the hotel.

After the girls had hair and makeup done at a hotel in the city, everyone (bride and groom and attendants) traveled our for our Ascot House Receptions wedding, and prepared in some of the beautiful rooms there. Sharlie and Rowan had definitely decided they wanted to do most of their bridal photography pre-wedding so they could get straight into the reception afterwards, so we did a “first-look” in the music room, and then headed out to the grounds to capture those shots before the ceremony got rolling.

Gazebo Ceremony

The subsequent ceremony was a very personal and intimate affair. Held in the little gazebo that lives in the gardens there at Ascot House Receptions. Sharlie made her entrance right down the path that runs down through the garden, to meet a very excited and happy Groom Rowan at the altar.

Such a laid-back and friendly couple, it was a privilege to be a part of the day. Further, always so awesome to get a nice text like the one I got from Sharlie the next day. “Hey Jon, just wanted to say thankyou for being part of what we thought was a pretty perfect day. We loved working with you and are really looking forward to the photos – Rowan and Sharlie”.

Well it’s not the whole set, but here’s a tiny preview of this laid-back Ascot House wedding.
