In March 2017 I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to photograph Kelly and Keith’s Avalon Castle wedding. This unique venue, truly tucked away in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges, is a great spot if you’re looking for a gothic-type backdrop to your ceremony.
With the sun shining brightly on us all, a very personal ceremony by Helen (including locking away a special bottle with some love-letters to each other) was concluded in the nearby shade. Great idea to get everyone out of the heat to finish the formalities.
Then it was on to an express photo session and reception upstairs in the castle – I just love looking out over the battlements from the upstairs balconies, very cool. And we did sneak out for some more photos during the reception, after the sun had set and it was cooling down a little. And after Kelly had had a chance to change her shoes – loved the wedding shoes, but those black boots are rock-and-roll, baby 🙂
Enjoy Kelly and Keith – it was great to be a part of it!
