Catrin and Jonathan’s gorgeous winter wedding at Marybrooke Manor

Marybrooke Manor wedding - Cat and Jon

Catrin and Jonathan’s wedding at gorgeous Marybrooke Manor, nestled in the Dandenongs east of Melbourne, was a brilliant day, and truly a celebration.

Arriving at Jon’s family’s home in Mount Waverley, the immediate discussion was whether or not we’d be able to have the ceremony outside. It wasn’t going to rain, but it was well under 10 degrees and the wind was making it feel a LOT colder. I knew it was Cat and Jon’s preference to have the wedding outside, but he’d already discussed it and the decision was that it would now be inside the function room at Marybrooke Manor, with the open fires going, and I reckon this was a great decision.

Jon had been downtown for a shave and haircut, and as with many groomsmen their preparations were pretty laid-back – just Jon and his brothers, and Cat’s brother as “Bride’s Man”.

Then it was on to Marybrooke to catch up with the lovely Cat and her beautiful bridesmaids. When I arrived the girls were ahead of schedule, already done with hair and make up, and ready to get started! So I grabbed the detail shots, and we had a little bit more time than usual to make use of the beautiful upstairs “getting ready” rooms at Marybrooke.

Then it was on to the ceremony, conducted by always-awesome celebrant Erin Rollason, where Cat and Jon read their unique and personal vows and were married 🙂

Anyway, on to the images – check them out and read on below for some more about the shoot and reception.

Couple of little notes about the reception and photo shoot – their girls did brilliantly well to survive and be so easy to work with in the cold conditions!

And I had to mention the little loveheart that someone drew on the window. Once the dancing got really started and heated up the place even more, it was so cold outside that we started fogging up the room. Someone drew the little love heart with a “C&J” on it, and I went to grab a shot of that little detail that was so fleeting. Great to get a permanent reminder of a detail that would be lost forever as soon as the heat was gone from the room and the celebrations over.
